The hot weather always reminds me of my boys. Gerbils are desert animals so normally do very well in hotter weather. But one of their favourite things to do when it was super hot out, was to sit in our hands while we held them in front of an open window or a fan, and they would just be chilling in the breeze for as long as we would hold them.
So here is an old picture of our sweet Merry, enjoying just that.
Lola has this week learnt how to get to the bottom of our wardrobe…she and Jigglypuff are now partners in crime and plotting their next heist.
Throwing it back slightly to bring you a tiny baby Lola picture. This was her about two weeks after we brought her home, where she was just learning to explore her new forever home.
It’s been two years…and aside from growing a fair bit fluffier, she still looks like our little baby bunny.
Came across this gem of a photo while going through my phone the other day….
My little yin and yang bunnies.
I still miss Sasha everyday, but seeing these pictures I know that we gave her a blooming good life. And I know that Lola has two forever cuddle buddies in myself and my partner. I’m glad that none of my pets have ever had to go a day without head rubs and a soft blanket to lie on.
At the end of the day, what more could you ask for your pets?
Our desk gremlin has returned….slightly melted in the heat though.
I had to work from home for a few days last week (I am one of those people who has been working in an office since lockdown first lifted last June, so working from home is still very novel for me!) and I managed to inherit a little Desk Gremlin.
She sat underneath me for the whole three days I was at home. Occasionally she would nudge my foot out of her way, but otherwise she was fast asleep.
I felt like the Chosen One.
The reality of being a bunny parent is that getting a good photo of them is VERY rare. My phone is just full of blurry photos of a certain bunny who is trying to reinvent the definition of speed.
A new fun game with Lola….find the bunny amongst the toys.
Ignore my clothing…I would have put them in the wash pile but Lola also likes to dig through that.
One of the many upsides of having a pet, is that you never need a clock again. These little beings know exactly when they are to be fed, when they get cuddles and when it is time to play.
Take this for example.
We were slightly late having our own dinner, which meant we were slightly late in giving Lola her bowl of greens. This is what we saw, peeking around our coffee table, at the time when she usually has her greens, reminding us that we were – in fact – super late to feed her and that she would shortly starve to death unless we feed her IMMEDIATELY.
I do worry that we have spoiled her a bit….
We finally caved and now let Lola have supervised playtime in the bedroom, on the fresh new carpet. The binkies and zoomies have doubled and she has claimed under the desk as Her Spot.
Here she is, after a very busy half an hour of zoomies and binkies, ready for a nap. And me not being tough enough to force her out of the bedroom.
